GHANA IS DIRTY DUE TO LACK OF LOGISTICS TO COMBAT FILTH...... OFFICER TELLS GOVERNMENT
The District Environmental Health Officer for Afigya kwabre North district in Ashanti region Mad Stella Gabriel has appeal to the government to resource the sanitation sector with logistics to combat filth in the country.In an interview with offinso based Time 105.3 FM news caster ASONABA on Time midday news, Mad Stella said the sanitation sector is facing several challenges interms of logistics. Mad Stella said due to lack of vehicles, the they find it difficult to get to some areas within their various Districts to organize intensive education and sensitization programs to fight filth. "We need vehicles for routine premises inspection, Standards and Law enforcement, She said.
Mad Stella added that due to lack of law enforcement, people think that there is no law to punish them when they litter around.
Mad Stella said that we should stop burning refuse because the smoke generated could result in allergy and also aggravate the health condition of people with upper respiratory tract infections.most people after drinking sachet water dump the rubbers at unapproved areas that affects the aesthetic beauty of the environment and also result to chocked drains that stagnate water and breed mosquitoes.
All these is due to the fact that we have refused to refrain from the bad practices ", mad Stella Added
Mad Stella therefore call on government to provide the sanitation sector with all the needed logistics to ginger them combat filth well in the country.
