REASONS WHY WUTAH COLLAPSED AGAIN: Guru Explains

Award winning Ghanaian rapper and fashion designer Maradona Yeboah Adjei, known by his stage names Guru and NKZ, has explained reasons behind the downfall of Wutah music group.

Wutah, the Ghanaian music group made of  Daniel Morris (Kobby) and Frank Osei (Afriyie) who has over the years served Ghanaians with several hit singles including Adonko, Big Dreams, and Goosey Gander were officially signed to NKZ Music for a 3 years contract in 2017, of which the record label is owned by one of Ghana’s most consistent hit makers, Guru.

According to Guru, he (His Record Label) came in to support the dying talent of Wutah but the group is behaving abnormally ever since they started business and that they have once again decided to go solo after unsuccessfully patching their differences, and in recent reportage, the former is quoted to have said that not even the President of Ghana will be able to settle their feud.

Guru disclose this in an interview at Peace FM that, the group decided to amend their contract on some baseless reasons. “They decided to change our percentages from 50 - 50 to 70 – 30 respectively, and I asked PKay to let go and do what they wish for them”. He added.

He also said that, if the group is called for example to sign a deal, instead of the two of them to represent, I can decide not to show up and will not even answer his phone calls. All these little mistakes done by the group were seen as disrespectful to their clients and sometimes resource persons and dignitaries in the country.

“We had to return over 100,000 Ghana cedis of a contract deal just because one of them refuses to show up to perform and also denied all our phone calls” he said.

“It’s all about credibility, it’s all about people believing in you, and if you want people to understand the record label, this is not how to treat a client”.

Reports indicates that, the duoo fought on the day of signing the contract but yet Guru and his record label had faith in the group. According to Ray Moni, CEO of NKZ Music, the decision to sign the duo was because “kings deserved to be treated as such”.

According to Guru, their contract was signed and sealed with agreement so if he decides to take them to court, it will not result to good news.
