THOMAS PARTEY MOVES TO ARSENAL FOR £45.3 million

Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey has completed signing a deal with Arsenal for £45.3 million.

Arsenal took Partey from Atletico Madrid after paying his 50m euros (£45.3m) release clause. The 27-year-old made 35 league appearances and scored three goals for Atletico Madrid as they finished third in La Liga last season. He played 188 times for Atletico after joining the club in 2011.

Thomas Partey has emerged as one of Europe's most complete midfielders this season. The Ghanaian is also an excellent ball-winner for a central midfielder that makes 2.49 successful tackles per 90 minutes, he is dribbled past just once on average per 90 and his ball recovery numbers are top tier.

Arsenal has been linked with Partey throughout the summer transfer window.

Partey won the 2017-18 Europa League and 2018 Super Cup with Atletico and signed a new deal at the Wanda Metropolitano in 2018, until the end of June 2023.
