Amansie West Youth Attack DCE for Engaging Galamsay
*AMANSIE WEST RESIDENTS ATTACK THIER D. C. E FOR ALLOWING GALAMSEY IN HIS OWN RESIDENCY*
Galamsay fight by the president of the republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo has become a headache for the government since his own appointees are the Kingpins of this illegal activity.
It is about four (4) years now since the fight against illegal mining in the country started by the president but all efforts face serious challenges.
The appointees of Nana Addo led NPP government are making it difficult for the government to stop this illegal activity once and for all.
A typical example is the D. C. E for Amansie West District, Hon. Nii Larteh Ollenu who has allowed his friends and others to engaged in galamsey operation at the backyard of his residency. This illegal activity which is just 55m away from the residence of the DCE has continued for the past 2years. Many attempts have been made by various stakeholders to stop this illegal mining and reclaim the land but Hon Nii Larteh Ollenu's (DCE) inadequate concern has proven all efforts futile due to his share of monies made by his friends involved. Manholes created at the backyard of the DCE's residence have become death traps for the people of Manso Nkwanta community. The farmers have been complaining bitterly to the DCE to do something about it but all to no avail. The farmers find it difficult to access their farm produce because of the fear of falling into galamsay pits.
Residents and the good people of Amansie West District are therefore appealing to the President to sack him with immediate effect or the president should not hesitate to renominate him since he is a disgrace to the district and the country at large.
We are again appealing to *minister of lands and natural resources,* *minister of environment,* *local government minister,* *Ashanti regional minister* and the *president of the republic of Ghana* to order him to find the whereabouts of his friends who did the galamsay activity to reclaim the land as a matter of urgency.
