JUBILEE HOUSE: Ben Abdallah appointed as ZDA coordinator

 

The former Member of Parliament for Offinso south constituency, Hon Ben Abdallah Banda has been appointed by the president of Ghana as the National coordinator for the Zongo Development Authority.

The NPP government in 2017 established the Zongo and inner-city Development ministry and Zongo development fund to solely focus on the development of Zongo communities.

After some time, government decided to scrap the Ministry and fully back the Zongo Development Fund to continue with the Zongo development agenda.

The main reason for scrapping the ministry was to fully empower the Zongo Development Fund to manage the fund, as established by law.

As part of the new structure the presidency was to appoint a Presidential Coordinator for Zongo Development who will be a liaison between the Office of the President and the Zongo Development Fund Secretariat.

Hon Ben Abdallah Banda was the Member of Parliament for the Offinso South constituency between January 2009 and January 2021.
