CONSTRUCT MULTIPURPOSE COMMUNITY LEARNING CENTRES TO ENABLE ADULT LITERACY - Francis Asumadu
Adult literacy has been a major problem in the country, whereas more efforts is being put in place by Non formal education Division ( Complementary education Agency) together with the government of Ghana to reduce this headache.
The exercutive director of Non formal education division, now complementary education Agency, Mr. Francis Asuman has called on the government and other stakeholders to support put up multipurpose community learning centres in all the districts across the country to help curb the situation.
Mr. Francis Asumadu made this appeal at the Ghana version of the *55th international literacy day celebration* which took place in Techiman, the Bono East Regional capital on the 8th September,2021.
The exercutive director emphasized that looking at the number of non literate adults in the country, there is the need for dynamic change and solve the problem of unble to read and write on the part of these adults.
He added, when non literate adults becomes the centre of the equation,it becomes complex and complicated since reading, writing and numeracy skills that are foundamental requirement for the usage of digital device as available within our daily life style, we can not large them behind in the literacy training in this era, we need to bring them in tune with the able learning so that they can also be part of the 21St centry education delivery. He has therefore called for collaborative ideas to handle the situation
